Marrakesh-Menara Airport (RAK) is only about six kilometres from the medina, which makes it a convenient pickup point. In town, agencies are mostly in Gueliz and Hivernage.
The medina is largely pedestrian: you park on its edge, in guarded car parks. A car is most useful for the Palmeraie, hotels on the outskirts and day trips.
Classic trips: the Ourika valley, Imlil in the High Atlas, Essaouira (about 190 km) and Ouarzazate over the Tizi n’Tichka pass.
| Document | What to know |
|---|---|
| Driving licence | A valid licence. An international driving permit is recommended if your licence is not written in Latin script. |
| Identity document | National ID card (CIN) for residents, passport for visitors. |
| Age and licence seniority | Set by each agency: check with the agency before booking. |
| Deposit | Amount shown on each car’s page, returned at the end of the rental. |
Choose your dates and compare the cars in the city, on the map or in the list.
Open a car to see its photos, the included insurance, the extras and the price breakdown.
Book. The agency confirms and prepares the car.
At pickup, the agency employee inspects the car with you and takes photos.
